Pewter Rose Bistro announces new wine class
CHARLOTTE (GrapeVineTrail.com) - Pewter Rose Bistro in South End has announced a series of new wine classes that will focus on wines from the Pacific Northwest, including Washington and Oregon wineries.
Classes are held most Mondays, 6:30 p.m., at Pewter Rose. Cost is $15 per person. Reservations are required (704-332-8149).
"Offering wine classes to our loyal patrons is a great way for us to give back to them," said Pewter Rose Chef Geoff Bragg. "It is also a wonderful resource for wine enthusiasts, vinophiles, if you will, because we have knowledgeable experts presenting the wines, actual purveyors who have been to the vineyards and have hands-on experience with each wine discussed. We offer a very casual atmosphere. The food we serve with the class is substantial and delicious. And, we offer a very affordable admission price. For $15 you get to taste eight different wines and enjoy a spread of food paired with the wines showcased, without the $50 price of a wine dinner."
Pewter Rose, located at 1820 South Boulevard, is an eclectic fine dining bistro and metropolitan night club offering internationally-American food and wine, and a venue for wedding receptions and rehearsals that can accommodate up to 300 guests. The location is less than one mile from the uptown business district; in the heart of historic South End and the Dilworth neighborhood. Pewter Rose opened in 1986.
Pewter Rose's menu draws on the diverse, ethnic and cultural heritage of the United States - relating it to the palate of the region. Local produce, fresh seafood, poultry, beef, pork, game meats, and vegetarian items are all interpreted in unique yet "comfortable" ways.
The extensive wine list, which emphasizes French and California wines, consists of more than 500 selections. The wine list has received numerous awards from the prestigious "Wine Spectator" magazine and includes 10-12 wines by the glass on a monthly basis.
