BREAKING NEWS! The Traveling Vineyard is NOW OPEN IN INDIANA!!!!!

The great state of Indiana is now allowing direct wine shipments via in home wine tastings through The Traveling Vineyard!

Wineries will now be able to ship directly to customers around Indiana.

Indianapolis, Ind. (www.GrapeVineTrail.com) -- Indiana wine consumers will once again be able to receive wine shipments from their favorite Indiana wineries without having to visit them first.

Judge John D. Tinder ruled yesterday that a 2006 Indiana law requiring Indiana residents to fill out a face-to-face verification form from any winery they wished to have wine shipped from is unconstitutional. This reinstates the legal privilege for a consumer that was in place for 28 years prior to the 2006 code change.

Traveling Vineyard - Who are we?

I have had some emails from some readers interested in finding out what are company actually does, so I thought I would give you all a semi- brief synopsis.

The Traveling Vineyard operates in half of the states in the US. We are revolutionizing the wine tasting experience because we are turning living rooms into tasting rooms. Do not get me wrong- NOTHING beats a wine tasting at a vineyard, but there are many reasons why we can't always find a way to get to a vineyard. For instance, If you live in Allentown, PA. and want to try all italian wines and you can't get 10 friends to Tuscany, Italy or even Santa Barbara...try 5 of TTV's italian wines or California wines in your living room! See?

Dear Friends of Free the Grapes,
This email update is rather lengthy but it provides summaries of direct-to-consumer shipping legislation during this busy season. If your state is one of the remaining few which does not allow legal, regulated direct shipments, and it is not referenced below, then significant legislation is not in the works.

A wining trend throughout Indiana

New vintage, new foods, new tour greet the summer
Visitors to area Applebee's restaurants can be the first to sip a new vintage from Plainfield's Chateau Thomas Winery. In mid-May, the 31 Applebee's locations in Indiana debuted the Veranda series of wines from Plainfield's Chateau Thomas Winery. The wines-- made with vinifera grapes from California -- include a cabernet sauvignon, a merlot and a chardonnay. They take their name from Music on the Veranda, the popular annual summer concert series held at Chateau Thomas. Although the winery plans to expand sales to retail customers, currently they are only available at the casual chain of eateries.
